PRAGUE
TRAINS - PRAGUE METRO - PRAGUE TRAMS
A
speedy way to get around Prague, the Prague
Metro or Underground is clean and efficient.
In October 2004, there are two types of tickets an 8
crown ticket (about 20p) for four stops of the Prague
Metro, and 12 crown tickets (about 30p) for any longer
Metro journey.
Before you set out on your journey,
check your Prague Metro Map (See Below)
– note the last station in the direction you want
to go (so you don’t end up heading the wrong way).
You can buy tickets in any Metro Station, your hotel,
etc. You can buy the tickets in advance of your journey,
just stick it in the ticket validating machine as you
start your journey and the ticket will be date and time
stamped.
Prague
Trams may be a little slower but a marvellous
way to get around – you can see much more. Each
tram stop gives a list of stops for each tram route,
a timetable for it (absolutely accurate). For trams
you need a 12 Kc ticket and again there’ll be
a yellow ticket machine where you get on. As you wait
for your tram, count the stops to your destination.
